Slow Poke will be performing for the @melbjazzcoop @thejazzlab this Sunday night June 22nd - so very excited to make some music with these two again!! @spirograph_studies @kyrieandersonmusic Slow Poke make music slowly; not necessarily slow music but music that takes its time, in no rush to prove itself. Led by guitarist Matt Hoyne, this trio is an outlet for exploring melody, texture and space more deeply; with a repertoire of simple original songs and some re-imaginings of music by the likes of Joni Mitchell and Rufus Wainwright. An ambling take on the jazz guitar trio, Slow Poke features the immeasurable talents of Tamara Murphy on bass and Kyrie Anderson on drums.
